This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Kala Data Australia Pty Ltd ("Kala Data", "we", "us", "our") uses them on our website at kala-data.com (the "Site") and compute platform at compute.kala-data.com (the "Platform"), and how you can control their use.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how their site is used.

Cookies on the Kala Data website
The main kala-data.com site is a static website with minimal client-side scripting. We do not currently set analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on the static site. We aim to keep our cookie footprint as small as possible.
The following may apply:
Fonts (Google Fonts)
Our site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. In doing so, your browser makes a request to Google's servers, and Google may collect your IP address and browser information. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for information on how Google handles this data. We are evaluating self-hosting our fonts to eliminate this third-party request entirely.
Contact and inquiry forms
If a form submission service is integrated in the future, cookies or storage mechanisms set by that service will be described in an update to this policy.
Server logs
Our web host may record standard HTTP access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps). These are not cookie-based and are described in our Privacy Policy.
Cookies on the Compute Platform
The Kala Data compute platform (compute.kala-data.com) is a separate application with its own session management. It may use:
- Authentication cookies — strictly necessary cookies used to keep you securely logged in to your account and to maintain your session. Without these cookies the Platform cannot function.
- Preference cookies — used to remember your settings and preferences within the Platform interface.
- Analytics cookies — the Platform may use analytics tools to understand feature usage and improve the service. Where analytics are used, they will be described in the Platform's own cookie notice, presented at the time of account registration or at first use.
How to manage and control cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your web browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View the cookies that have been set and delete them individually or in bulk.
- Block third-party cookies while accepting first-party cookies.
- Block all cookies (note: this will prevent some parts of the Platform from working correctly, as authentication cookies are essential).
- Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set.

Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Site and Platform. In particular, the compute Platform requires session cookies to authenticate your account.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is currently no agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, our Site does not alter its behaviour in response to a DNT request. We will revisit this position as industry standards develop.
Changes to this policy
We will update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies and tracking technologies changes, or as new legal requirements apply. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by applicable law, display a cookie consent notice before setting those cookies.
